KHUJAND, August 28, 2013, Asia-Plus – Khojand resident is on the wanted list on human trafficking suspicion.

Soghd Province Regional Department to Combat Organized Crime of the Ministry of Interior, human trafficking fact was revealed by a 40-year-old Khojand resident, M.N., who is currently wanted.

The source said: “It is established that M.N., while being in Dubai (UAE) promised to find a job for three women from Soghd Province from Khojand, Qayraqqom, and Babajan Ghafourov District, aged between 20 and 30. After the women arrived in Dubai, she took their passports and forced them into prostitution.” The source underlined that she forced the women to pay her between 10 to 17 thousand US Dollars, supposedly for air tickets and other costs.

Criminal case against M.N. has been opened based on Criminal Code Article 130, Remark 1 (human trafficking), and investigation is underway.
