DUSHANBE, August 30, 2013, Asia-Plus – President of Tajikistan, Emamali Rahman, received the Army Chief of Staff of Pakistan, General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani on Friday, 30 August.

According to the President’s press office, cooperation development of Tajikistan and Pakistan in the security, defense, and fight against terrorism and extremism were discussed during the meeting. The parties expressed satisfaction with the level of cooperation between relevant institutions of two states.

Special attention was paid to the situation in Afghanistan, implementation of CASA-1000, which provides electricity from Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan into Pakistan and Afghanistan, construction of Tajikistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan railroad.
