DUSHANBE, September 13, 2013, Asia-Plus – President Emamali Rahman held talks with the Iranian President, Hassan Rouhani, and Afghan President, Hamid Karzai, in the frame of his participation in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit in Bishkek this morning.
President’s press office reports that special attention was paid to development of cooperation between two states in economic, trade, and investment spheres during the meeting with the Iranian president. Growth of Iranian investments into Tajik economy was noted with satisfaction.
Messrs. Karzai and Rahman paid particular attention to economic cooperation between the two states. The parties expressed interest in Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Tajikistan railroad construction’s acceleration, as well as in signing the trilateral trade and transit agreement between Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Tajikistan.
