DUSHANBE, October 9, 2013, Asia-Plus — Tajik Ambassador to Russia Abdulmajid Dostiyev attended the fifth KAZANSUMMIT that took place in Kazan, the capital of Russia’s Tatarstan Republic on October 2-3.   

KAZANSUMMIT is the International Summit on Economic Cooperation between the Russian Federation and the Countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).  It is an international economic and business forum-summit held annually in Kazan, Russia. It was established in 2009.  It is held under the patronage of the President of Republic of Tatarstan.   

KAZANSUMMIT is of particular interest to participants of international organizations, domestic and foreign financial institutions, diplomatic legations, top managers, investors, scientists, and analysts and experts.

On the sidelines of the forum, Dostiyev met in Kazan with representatives of Tajik Diaspora, Mohammad Egazmod, an official representative of the Tajik Embassy in Moscow, said.

According to him, problems facing Tajik migrants in the Russian Federation and the 2013 presidential election in Tajikistan were among major topics of the meeting.

Addressing the meeting, Dostiyev reportedly noted that they would create all necessary conditions to ensure participation of Tajiks living and working in Russia in the upcoming presidential election.
