DUSHANBE, October 21, 2013, Asia-Plus — Sozandagoni Vatan (Homeland Builders), which is the youth organization of the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP), plans to conduct a republican action, dubbed “My President,” ahead of the upcoming presidential election.

The head of the PDP Center for Analysis and Propaganda Adham Mirsaidov, who is also head of Sozandagoni Vatan, says they plan to conduct the action in all cities and districts of Tajikistan on November 2.

“Young people carrying the national flags and portraits of President Emomali Rahmon will march along the central streets of all cities and districts of the country,” Adham Mirsaidov told Asia-Plus in an interview.

The PDP created the Sozandagoni Vatan organization in 2011 and its founding conference took place on July 27, 2011.  The conference elected Adham Mirsaidov, formerly head of the PDP organizing department, chairman of the Sozandagoni Vatan organization.  The organization was registered with the Ministry of Justice in November 2011.

To-date, some 25,000 young people have joined the organization.  Besides, some 60,000 young people who are members of the PDP have automatically become members of Sozandagoni Vatan.

The main objective of the organization is in fostering a spirit of patriotism, devotion to ideas of national self-consciousness and independence of the country in the young generation.
