DUSHANBE, November 1, 2013, Asia-Plus — A new propylene package producing enterprise, Sughd Pack, has recently been introduced into operation in the northern city of Chkalovsk.

According to the Ministry of Energy and Industry (MoEI), the enterprise that was launched by local entrepreneurs Shodimurod Saidov and Mirali Usmonov will produce packages with capacity of 2 kilograms to 2 tons.

12.5 million somoni (equivalent to more than 2.6 million USD) have reportedly been spent to construct the enterprise and provide it with the state-of-the-art equipment.

The equipment has been purchased in China and raw materials are being delivered from the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Russian Federation.

Sughd Pack is expected to export its products to other countries as well; appropriate agreements have already been signed with enterprises in Kazakhstan, Russia, Belarus and Ukraine.

120 people now work for the enterprise and the number of workers will reportedly  increase to 720 people after it operates at full capacity, the source said.
