DUSHANBE, April 23, 2014, Asia-Plus — President Emomali Rahmon has urged all bodies of power to take adequate measures to provide information security of the country.

He stated this today at a joint meeting of both chambers of the parliament.

“Today, international crime organizations use Internet to commit cyber crimes, terrorism and extremism and the first duty of the law enforcement agencies is in countering these crimes,” President Rahmon noted.

The president also expressed concern about increase in the number of juvenile crimes in the country and ordered the Interior Ministry and the Prosecutor-General’s Office to work out a draft law on prevention of juvenile delinquency within the next six months.

He also ordered the Interior Ministry to work out a draft program for strengthening relationship between police and public.

Touching upon the issue of training of personnel for local law enforcement agencies in Tajikistan itself, the president stressed that the government would take all necessary measures to tackle that problem.  “A new building is being constructed for the Tajik Police Academy and construction of a new building for the Higher School of the State Committee for National Security (SCNS) will start next year,” Rahmon said.

The president also ordered relevant ministries and agencies to work out a new judicial system reform program before the end of this year.
