DUSHANBE, July 9, 2014, Asia-Plus — To-date, CCTV cameras have reportedly been installed in 70 percent of military units of the Ministry of Defense of Tajikistan (MoD).
“By government’s resolution all the MoD military units should be equipped with CCTV cameras before 2015,” Faridoun Mahmadaliyev, a spokesman for the MoD, told Asia-Plus in an interview.
According to him, CCTV cameras have been installed everywhere — at entrances, in kitchens, in barracks and along the perimeters of the military units.
Tajik servicemen hope that the move will help tackle hazing problems in the army.
