DUSHANBE, September 2, 2014, Asia-Plus – On Tuesday September 2, new Tajik Ambassador to the Islamic Republic of Iran, Nematullo Emomzoda, presented his credentials to Iranian President Hassan Rouhani.

According to the Tajik MFA information department, the sides discussed issues related to state and prospects of further expansion of bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and Iran.    

Iranian president reportedly noted that there was considerable room for expansion of bilateral cooperation in various fields, including tourism and student exchange programs.

Hassan Rouhani noted said that Tajikistan was an important partner of Iran in the Central Asian region.

Nematullo Emomzoda, for his part, said he would do his best to promote further expansion of bilateral cooperation between the two countries.

Pointing to the upcoming visit of Iranian president to Tajikistan, Tajik diplomat expressed confidence that that the visit would pave the way for further expansion of bilateral mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries.

Meanwhile, the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) reports that Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said during the meeting with Tajik Ambassador Emomzoda that relations among the Persian-speaking countries should be expanded in all areas.

Referring to the cordial relations between Iran, Afghanistan and Tajikistan, Rouhani underscored that the progress of each regional country, would benefit the entire region, IRNA said.

On the historical Tehran-Dushanbe historical and cultural relations, he reportedly called for expansion of all-out ties between the two countries.

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani is scheduled to pay an official visit to Tajikistan next week to hold talks with high-ranking Tajik state officials and attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit.
