DUSHANBE, November 24, 2014, Asia-Plus – Over the first ten months of this year, Tajikistan’s trade with the countries of the European Union (EU) has increased by almost 60 percent compared to the same period last year, according to the Agency for Statistics under the President of Tajikistan.

In January-October this year, Tajikistan’s trade with the European countries has amounted to 766 million U.S. dollars (USD).  This consisted of Tajikistan’s exports to the EU countries estimated at 267 million USD and Tajikistan’s imports from the EU countries worth 499 million USD.

Thus, a two-way trade between Tajikistan and Austria increased by 52 percent over the same ten-month period while Tajikistan’s trade with Bulgaria, San Marino and Latvia increased by 60, 62 and 21 percent respectively.

Meanwhile, Tajikistan’s imports from Greece increased 7.3 times, from Spain 5.3 times, Croatia 2.6 times and Sweden 6.4 times.
