DUSHANBE, July 15, 2015, Asia-Plus — Over the first six months of this year, prices for one square meter of dwelling space in Dushanbe have reportedly declined by 300.00 U.S. dollars.

“In January-June this year, prices for one square meter for dwelling space in Dushanbe have declined on average by 300.00 U.S. dollars,” Nourali Saidzoda, the deputy head of the Committee for Construction and Development under the Government of Tajikistan, told reporters in Dushanbe on July 15.

According to him, the prices have declined from $500-$1200 in 2014 to $450-$800 this year.  He attributes decline in prices to economic crisis.

Meanwhile, prices for one square meter for dwelling space in downtown Dushanbe have not changed.  Thus, prices for one square meter in residential buildings in the TsUM (Central Universal Department Store) fluctuate from $1,400 to $1,800, Saidzoda noted.

Current prices for one square meter for dwelling space in the airport area reportedly fluctuate from $600 to $800.

Saidzoda noted that quality of construction of the residential buildings had much improved.  “Residential buildings that are currently being built in Dushanbe meet international standards,” he added.
