DUSHANBE, October 7, 2015, Asia-Plus — More than 30 Iranian entrepreneurs have reportedly confirmed their participation in the 2015 Dushanbe International Business Forum that will take place on October 14.

Tajik Ambassador to Iran Nematullo Emomzoda on October 6 met in Tehran with Mr. Mohsen Jalalpour, Head of Iran’s Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture.

According to the Tajik Embassy in Tehran, the two discussed state and prospects of further expansion of trade and economic cooperation between Tajikistan and Iran.

Ambassador Emomzoda noted that the 2015 Dushanbe International Business Forum would take place on October 14.  High-ranking Tajik state officials, experts, as well as senior representatives of a number of international organizations will participate in the Forum, Tajik diplomat said.

He expressed hoped that Iranian delegation would also participated in the upcoming event.

Meanwhile, the Tajik Embassy in Tehran says that more than 30 Iranian entrepreneurs have confirmed their participation in the Forum.   

The Forum is expected to offer a platform to identify new opportunities for cooperation between the state and business.  Participants will have a chance to discuss current challenges and opportunities in sustaining private sector growth, map prospects for private investments, and explore state”s role in fostering business partnerships. The Forum will also touch upon the investment opportunities in the context of the greater region.

Above all, the Forum will showcase the emerging investment opportunities in Tajikistan’s energy and industry, finance and agrarian sectors.

According to data of the Agency for Statistics under the President o Tajikistan, a two-way trade between Tajikistan and the Islamic republic of Iran in January-August 2015 has valued at US$117.9 million.  This consisted of Tajikistan’s exports to Iran estimated at US$33.2 million and Tajikistan’s imports from Iran worth US$84.7 million

The Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture (ICCIMA) is a non-profit semi-governmental institution, established to facilitate economic growth and development in the country.  ICCIMA is a forum in the field of industries, mines and agriculture.  Its main functions are: facilitating cooperation among business persons and owners of industries, mines and agricultural units; advising in the implementation of relevant state laws and regulations; providing advisory opinions to the government on commercial and economic issues; establishing relations with chambers of commerce in other countries; establishing joint chambers or committees of commerce, according to the general policies of the Government: seeking to identify export markets for Iranian products and services; creating a suitable entrepreneurship environment and removing business obstacles; and settling through arbitration, domestic or international commercial disputes, by establishing the ICCIMA Arbitration Center.
