DUSHANBE, January 21, 2016, Asia-Plus — House prices have reportedly halved in Dushanbe.

In a report released at a news conference in Dushanbe, the Dushanbe chief architect Qudratullo Fuzaylov noted on January 21 that prices for one square meter of dwelling space in Dushanbe have halved due to the global financial and economic crisis.

“The price for one square meter of dwelling space in downtown Dushanbe has fallen from 1,300 U.S. dollars to 650 U.S. dollars,” Fuzaylov said.

According to him, the price for one square meter of dwelling space in other areas of Dushanbe has fallen from 800 U.S. dollars to 600 U.S. dollars.

According to data of the Committee for Construction and Architecture under the Government of Tajikistan, an overall space of more than 1.2 million square meters in residential buildings was made available in Tajikistan during 2015, which is 8.2 percent more than in 2014.
