DUSHANBE, March 30, 2016, Asia-Plus – President Emomali Rahmon today held a meeting to discuss preparations for the autumn-winter period 2016-2017 and measures to ensure regular work of the country’s economy during the winter period, according to the Tajik president’s official website.

The second line of the Dushanbe-2 combined heat and power (CHP) plant is expected to be introduced into operation this year and the president ordered to connect all social facilities and apartment buildings to the plant by October 2016.    

The head of state ordered to set up the republican commission for implementation of the plan of actions for spending the winter.

The members of the government also discussed draft resolutions on the program for socioeconomic development of the Rushan district of the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region (GBAO) for 2016-2020, the plan of actions on establishing new industrial enterprises and workshops in the country in 2016, the national program for training of professional higher education specialists for 2016-2020, and the procedure of creation of the register of humanitarian aid provided to Tajikistan’s public associations.

Chairpersons of the Rushan and Roshtqala districts of Gorno Badakhshan reported on programs of socioeconomic development of the districts designed for 2016-2020.

The president ordered the relevant ministries and agencies to provide the earthquake-hit residents of Rushan with all necessary building materials.

The government’s resolution on establishment of new industrial enterprises and workshops in 2016, in particular provides for establishment of 20 enterprises in Gorno Badakhshan (these enterprise are expected to create 195 new jobs in the region), 70 enterprises in Khatlon province (3,670 new jobs), 55 enterprises in Sughd province (880 new jobs), 19 enterprises in Dushanbe and districts subordinate to the center (1,300 new jobs).  Besides, establishment of new workshops and training-and-production centers at the operating enterprises will create 3,000 new jobs.

The meeting participants also discussed and approved amendments proposed by the government to a number of country’s laws.
