DUSHANBE, April 7, 2016, Asia-Plus – Two were killed and at least three others injured in a rockfall that occurred in Khorog, the capital of the Gorno Badakhshan Autonomous Region (GBAO). 

The Interior Ministry’s website reports the accident took place on April 5.  A car was reportedly moving from the Botanical Gardens to the Imronsho Street in Khorog as a rock fall caused by heavy rainfall swept it into the 83-meter precipice.

The 19-year-old driver and one of his passengers, a 20-year-old resident of Khorog, died on the spot, while three other passengers sustained various injuries and were taken to a hospital.
