DUSHANBE, August 11, 2016, Asia-Plus — The Minister of Transport Sherali Ganjalzoda held a working meeting yesterday to discuss the progress of implementation of the national investment transportation development projects.

According to the Ministry of Transport (MoT) press center, the minister expressed dissatisfaction with the slow pace of implementation of the projects.

The minister reportedly ordered contractors and consultants to remove exiting shortcomings in the shortest possible time and ensure high-quality carrying out of construction works.

Besides, they were obligated to submit monthly financial reports to the ministry and coordinate the financial plan for this year with relevant bodies and investors.

For the purpose of supporting the country’s economy the Ministry of Transport reportedly intends to get local companies to take part in the 2016-2017 tenders.

According to data from the Ministry of Transport, 18 investment transportation development projects worth 655.5 million U.S. dollars are currently being implemented in Tajikistan.
