In Tajikabad the breakaway part of the glacier, which melted and turned into a landslide, caused damage to the village of Sebiston. Homes and communications systems are destroyed. The incident happened on August 28.

That day in the evening from Sebiston Jamoat Kalai Labi ob Tajikabad mountain village district split a part of the glacier, which turned into a powerful landslide and blocked Surak riverbed.

As reported the chief of the press center of CoES and civil defense under the government of Tajikistan Umeda Yusupova, in the result of melted landslide the water level in the river rose, destroying the bridge between Fathobod and Shurob villages.

Also mud weight caused damage to 10 homes, damaged farms and communication systems of Fathobod and Kapali villages of Tajikabad district. With the aim of elimination of consequences of natural disasters was set operational Headquarters, at the scene arrived the Deputy Prime Minister, the leadership of CoES, were pulled together the divisions of the Committee of emergency situations and civil defense under the government of RT.

At the moment houses are being cleared of dirt, have been organized the positions of the observation points, have been implemented points to provide population with drinking water. Victims among the population are not registered.
