Russia has ratified a customs cooperation agreement with Tajikistan.

Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a government-to-government agreement between Russia and Tajikistan on mutual opening of representative offices of the customs services on November 22.

The document that was signed in Dushanbe on September 23, 2015 provides for opening of the representative office of the Tajik Customs Service  in Russia and the representative office of the Russian Customs Service in Tajikistan.

According to the agreement, this is conditioned by the necessity of expanding cooperation between the customs services of the two countries to improve passenger and cargo movement, provide proper collection of customs duties, and prevent customs infringements.
