Resident of the city of Tursunzoda has got a lengthy jail term for brutal killing of his fellow-citizen.

The Supreme Court sentenced Umidzhon Izzatov to twenty-three years in prison on July 25.  The sentenced followed his conviction on charges of brutal killing of Abdulhomid Usmonov.

According to the press center of the Prosecutor-General’s Office, Umidzhon Izzatov inflicted 14 stab wounds on Abdulhomid Usmonov in February this year following quarrel.  Usmonov died on the spot.

Izzatov also inflicted two stab wounds on Usmonov’s father who was trying to defend his son.  Physicians reportedly managed to save the man.
