Frontier post “Karachikum” of border unit “”Devashtich deployed in the northern Sughd province has been officially opened in the presence of the Commander of Tajik Border Troops Rajabali Rahmonali and the Security Council Secretary Abdurahim Qahhorov.  

The frontier posts is provided with barracks, training and computer classes, studies, canteen, warehouses, bath-house and sports grounds, Muhammad Ulughkhojayev, a spokesman for the Main Border Directorate at the State Committee for National Security (SCNS), told Asia-Plus in an interview. 

According to him, Lieutenant-General Rajabali Rahmonali has called on soldiers and officers to serve honestly and protect interests of the nation.  

The frontier post has reportedly been built in a disputed territory.  

Recall, Tajik-Kyrgyz relations have been tense in recent years due to clashes between their citizens and border forces along their common border, which has not yet been demarcated completely.
