Director of the Center of Additional Education at the Istaravshan Education Department (Sughd province) has been detained on suspicion of embezzling state funds, according to the Interior Ministry’s office in the Sughd province.
“The preliminary investigation has established that since April 1, 2015 the detainee had embezzled more than 25,000 somoni allocated for renovation of local schools,” a source at the Interior Ministry’s office in the Sughd province told Asia-Plus in an interview.
Criminal proceedings have been instituted against the corrupt official and an investigation is under way.
