In a statement delivered at the 13th session of the Dushanbe Majlis (local council) of the fifth convocation, Dushanbe Mayor Rustam Emomali yesterday noted that the volume of the gross regional product (GRP) of Dushanbe for the first nine months of this year has stood at 7.510 billion somoni, which 5.8 percent more compared to the same period last year and equal to 17.7 percent of Tajikistan’s gross domestic product (GDP), according to the press center of the Dushanbe mayor’s office.
Over the same nine-month period, commodity production has accounted for 22.9 percent of GRP’s structure and taxes have accounted for 3.9 percent, the press center said.
The GRP growth has reportedly was reached due to 103.6 percent n crease in industrial production, 101.4 percent increase in cargo transportations, 101.3 percent increase in retail trade and 101.3 increase in the rates for services rendered to the population.
Gross regional product (GRP) is a monetary measure of the market value of all final goods and services produced in a region or subdivision of a country in a period (quarterly or yearly) of time.

Over the report period, Dushanbe-based industrial enterprises have produced a total of 1.406 billion somoni of goods.
Compared to the same period last year, the index of the volume of production of industrial goods has amounted to 104.1 2 percent.
Speaking at the meeting, the mayor ordered the Dushanbe main directorate for construction and the Dushanbe land management department to pay special attention to construction and architectural works and take under control observance of all town-planning requirements and allotment of lands for construction, the press center added.
The Dushanbe legislature session endorsed the city budget for 2018 and the Dushanbe socioeconomic development program for the period to 2025.
