A resident of the northern Sughd province has killed his wife and 8-year-old daughter.

According to the Interior Ministry’s website, a 42-year-old resident of the Bobojon-Ghafourov district killed his 36-year-old wife and 8-year-old daughter following family quarrel.

The tragedy took place on December 21.  He reportedly stabbed them to death, inflicting 17 stab wounds on his wife and six stab wounds on his daughter.  

After that, he reportedly injured his 36-year-old fellow-villager inflicting a stab wound on him.  The man was hospitalized.

Criminal proceedings have instituted and an investigation is under way.
