Several people have sustained stab wounds during a funeral ceremony in the Vanj district of the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region (GBAO).

According to the Interior Ministry’s website, the incident took place in the Uskerogh village.

A 41-year-old resident of the Uskerogh village reportedly inflicted stab wounds on his two cousins and his 54-year-old sister following family quarrel during the funeral ceremony of his 63-year-old brother.  

The wounded persons were taken to the Vanj central district hospital. 

Criminal proceedings have been instituted and an investigation is under way.
