An exhibition of more than 50 works by known Tajik painters is being held in Geneva.

Organized by Tajikistan’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations Office and other International Organizations in Geneva in cooperation with Tajik State Institute of Fine Arts and Design, the exhibition kicked off on February 8, according to the Tajik MFA information department.

The exhibition is taking place in the headquarters building of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).

Works by known Tajik painters Akmal Mirshakar, Anvar Saifiddinov, Farrukh Khojayev, Mizrob Kholov, Yusufjon Sangov, Behrouz Zabirov, Payrav Gulov, Eraj Olimov, Karimjon Najmiddinov and Mamadkarim Raqibov have been put on display at the exhibition that runs through February 15, a source at the Tajik State Institute of Fine Arts and Design told Asia-Plus in an interview.

Besides, works by Tajik woodcarver Abdutolib Haidarov have also been put on display at the ongoing exhibition.

The opening ceremony was attended by WIPO Director General Francis Gurry and representatives of diplomatic missions and international organizations active in the host country.

Master classes on woodcarving and painting have reportedly been held on the sidelines of the exhibition, the source said.
