Some 20 tons of narcotics drugs have reportedly been burnt since the counter narcotics agency was established in June 1999.

Meanwhile, Tajik drug control chief Sherkhon Salimzoda told reporters in Dushanbe on July 20 that more than 628 kilograms of narcotic drugs have been seized by Tajik drug control officers over the first six months of this year.  A totaled included 5.2 kilograms of heroin, 309 kilograms of raw opium, 90.5 kilograms of hashish and 223.7 kilograms of cannabis.

Over the same six-month period, the DCA officers have reportedly solved 110 drug-related crimes.
