More than 357 kilograms of narcotic drugs have been burnt in a special narcotic-burning incinerator of the Drug Control Agency (DCA) in Dushanbe, the DCA press center reported on July 20.  

The drugs were reportedly confiscated during last year and they were burnt in the presence of representatives of law enforcement and judicial bodies and local and foreign media.

Some 20 tons of narcotics drugs have reportedly been burnt since the counter narcotics agency was established in June 1999.    

Meanwhile, Tajik drug control chief Sherkhon Salimzoda told reporters in Dushanbe on July 20 that more than 628 kilograms of narcotic drugs have been seized by Tajik drug control officers over the first six months of this year.  A totaled included 5.2 kilograms of heroin, 309 kilograms of raw opium, 90.5 kilograms of hashish and 223.7 kilograms of cannabis.      

Over the same six-month period, the DCA officers have reportedly solved 110 drug-related crimes.
