In Tajikistan, three years ago, the Concept of Providing Free Legal Aid was adopted, one of the points of which is the creation of permanent state legal bureaus in all regions of the country. They are created and work.

We talked with a qualified lawyer who threw Dushanbe, moved to Yavan district to provide people with free legal aid. And that's why.

Meet Alisher Holmurodzoda, Senior Lawyer of the State Legal Bureau of the Yavan District. He moved from Dushanbe to the province to provide his fellow countrymen with free legal assistance.

Before moving to Yavan, Alisher worked for five years in Dushanbe as a lawyer in a private company. But then he decided to return to his native land. It turned out that it is much more interesting to work in the countryside than in the capital.

– Where people and fates are always interesting. There are such stories – films can be shot! – Рассказывает Алишер.

About 60% of his clients are women, most often those who have faced the division of property after a divorce from their husbands. If a man refuses to pay alimony, hides his income from the state or tries to leave his children without housing – the entire Yavan district knows that one should go to a free lawyer – he will help.

However, sometimes men themselves need legal help too.

– Imagine: young people get married, but not having lived a month, get divorced, the wife demands a living space, – рассказывает Алишер.

– The husband has an apartment in Yavan and his own housing in Russia. And the former wife wanted to sue his apartment in Yavan. Usually in such cases the law becomes on the side of the woman. But we wrote a disagreement, managed to prove that in a month it is impossible to have time to acquire joint property, we managed to prove that the woman from the beginning had malicious intent.

Another very urgent issue for residents of the Yavan district is the acquisition of a site for the creation of a dekhkan farm. And in this case, one can not do without a lawyer.

 – In our family there are five people – my wife and children, we live in a one-room apartment, the children have grown up, they need to get married soon,  we need to expand, and there is no money for it. Whan to do? – Local resident Nuriddin Nazirov says.

To solve this difficult task, the acquaintances advised Nuriddin to apply to the free lawyer Alisher. The man at first did not even believe that a lawyer could help, and he would not even take money for it. But, fortunately, he was wrong.

– Everything worked out! Thank God, our hukumat allocated me a land on which we can now build a house, build a farm and live normally, like people. Alisher helped me in everything. He gave me so much advice, helped me to arrange everything, he is very literate. Many people run for years and it does not work out, and here we received a site in a few months, – Nazirov says.

The State Law Office has been operating in Yavan for a little over a year, during which time 360 people have applied. Lawyer – Alisher Holmurodzoda is engaged in almost all the same cases as private specialists. Just totally free.
