Unidentified persons have robbed the house of known cleric in the Khatlon province.  Robbers have reportedly seized more than 10,000 U.S. dollars. 

“The incident took place in the Vakhsh district on the night of November 18-18.  Unidentified persons penetrated into the house of local cleric Muhriddin Fayziddinov, also known as Eshoni Muhriddin, and seized 6,500 U.S. dollars and 40,000 somoni,” an official source at the Khatlon law enforcement authorities told Asia-Plus in an interview.

The source refrained from giving further details of the crime. 

Meanwhile, Tohir Tursunov, the head of the Kirov Jamoat in the Vakhsh District, told Radio Liberty’s Tajik Service that Eshoni Muhriddin and his son have taught in madrasah under the Spiritual Directorate of the Muslims of Khatlon Province for many years.
