Kyrgyz border guards have reportedly shot a trespasser dead in Manas district of Talas region in north-western Kyrgyzstan.

Citing the Public Relations and Media Department of Kyrgyzstan’s State Border Service, 24.kg says the incident occurred today in Kyrgyz territory not far from the Kyrgyz-Kazakh border.

The border guards reportedly spotted three unknown persons who were illegally driving 10-15 horses across the border from Kyrgyzstan to Kazakhstan in Zhaiylgan area of Manas district.  The border guards tried to detain the violators, but they resisted, threatening with a knife.

Border guards fired warning shots. Despite this, the perpetrators reportedly continued to resist. The servicemen opened fire in the direction of the offenders.  As a result, one of the trespassers was wounded, while two others managed to escape in the territory of Kazakhstan.

The border guards tried to give first aid to the wounded trespasser but he died.
