Citing data from Russia’s Federal Service for Statistics (Rosstat), RBK (Russian Business Channel) reports Tajikistan has become the main migration donor for Russia.  

Every fourth legal labor migrant that arrived in Russia last year is national of Tajikistan – 31,000 people.  Tajikistan is reportedly followed by Kazakhstan – 26,500 people.   

In all, the rate of migrant exchange with all CIS member nations has reportedly decreased.  The migrant exchange has increased only with Turkmenistan – by 2.7 percent, Armenia – by 2.6 percent and Azerbaijan – by 1.6 percent, according to Rosstat.
