Resident of Tursunzoda has got a lengthy jail term for cutting off his wife’s leg with an ax.   

Being in a state of drunkenness, the 56-year-old resident of Tursunzoda, Muhammadi Toshev, cut off a leg of his 33-year-old wife, Gulbahor Umarova, following family quarrel, according to the press center of Prosecutor-General’s Office.

The Tursunzoda city court has sentenced Toshev to eight years in prison.  The sentence followed his conviction on charges of intentional infliction of serious bodily injury.   

The man will serve his term in a high-security penal colony.
