President Emomali Rahmon is expected to pay a working visit to Sughd province at the end of this week, according to the Sughd regional administration.  

An official source at the Sughd regional administration says the main purpose of the visit is for the head of state is to get acquainted with the social and economic situation in the region. 

While in Sughd, Emomali Rahmon will also inaugurate a number of economic and social facilities and give start to implementation of a number of projects in the area.  

A special attention will be given to the issue of preparation of Sughd province for the 30th anniversary of Tajikistan’s Independence, which will be celebrated on September 9, 2021, the source added.

More than 6,500 new facilities, including 300 industrial enterprises are planned to be introduced into operation in northern Tajikistan by the 30th anniversary of Tajikistan’s Independence.
