The practice of cutting off electricity to some areas of Dushanbe is going on.  Today, ten streets and one neighborhood in Dushanbe will be left without electricity for seven hours.

“Today, electricity supply will be cut off to Gagarin, Poulod Tolis, Hamzaliyev, Proletarskaya, Roudaki, Chashmasor, Ayni, Rahmon Nabiyev, Abdurahmon Jomi and Kamol Khujandi streets from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm in connection with routine maintenance work,” said an official source at the Dushanbe electricity supply network.

“Besides, electricity will be cut off to Khovaron (Vosotchniye Kholmi or Eastern Hills) neighborhood,” the source added.

It is to be noted that various streets and neighborhoods in the Tajik capital have been left without electricity practically every day since the beginning of the year.

Barqi Tojik (Tajikistan’s state-run power utility company) has explained these power outages by maintenance work on Dushanbe’s power substations.
