Uzbekistan intends to reduce the number of labor migrants from current 2355 million people to 1.965 million people by 2030, according to the draft concept of complex socio-economic development of the country for the period to 2030.  

The draft concept says the number of economically active population of the country will increase by 17 percent by 2030 – from 15.099 million in 2018 to 17.707 million.

According to the Ministry of Economy of Uzbekistan, an average annual resident population of the country is expected to reach 38.6 million in 2030.  

The measures to reduce labor migration include reduction in tax burden on incomes of private entrepreneurship, creation of new jobs, placement of new enterprises in mainly regions having a tense situation in labor market and review of the Labor Code to stimulate employers to hire manpower.
