English teacher from Mathematics Lyceum No1 in the northern city of Khujand, Ms. Dilafrouz Karimova, has been recognized as the Teacher of the Year in Tajikistan in 2019.

The final part of the republican contest, dubbed “The Teacher of the Year of Tajikistan – 2019” took place at the Ministry of Education and Science in Dushanbe on January 18.  

Five teachers participated in the final part of the contest: Rizoali Mamadnazarbekov, physics teacher at Republican Boarding School in the Rushan district, the Gorno Badakhshan Autonomous Region (GBAO); Nekrouz Tursunzoda, geography teacher at the Presidential School in the city of Kulob, Khatlon province; Dilafrouz Karimova, English teacher at Mathematics Lyceum No1 in the city of Khujand, Sughd province; Habiba Sohibova, law teacher at the Lyceum named after Sobirov in Vahdat Township; and Saidkarim Rahimov, teacher of history at the Presidential International School in Dushanbe. 

Ms. Dilafrouz Karimova took the first place, Ms. Habiba Sohibova took the second place and Saidkarim Rahimov took the third place.
