A draft tax code in new edition is almost ready and it will be submitted for consideration to the government in the near future.
“A draft tax code in new edition will be made ready in a couple for day addition – by February 15,” Minister of Finance Faiziddin Qahhorzoda told reporters on February 13.
“Before being submitted for consideration to the government, the document must be discussed once again by the working group with participation of representatives of the private sector,” the minister noted.
According to him, the new tax code must come into effect by September this year so that the national budget 2021 would be developed on the basis of it.
Qahhorzoda emphasized that members of the working group for development of the new tax code also included specialists of the World Bank and the working group had taken into consideration proposals of tax payer and representatives of the private sector while developing the new tax code.
The working group for development of the new tax code was set up at the State Committee on Investment and State-owned Property Management (GosKomInvest) in June last year. The working group members include representatives of the private sector, development partners, experts and other stakeholders.
GosKomInvest says that “more than 200 proposals made by representatives of the private sector for improvement of the tax legislation have been submitted for consideration to the working group for development of a draft tax code in new edition.”
More than 100 representatives of various sectors of the economy have reportedly participated in meetings of the working group to discuss the existing tax problems.
Proposals made by businesspeople, in particular, provide for eliminating obstacles impeding formation and further development of business in the country.
Based on these proposals, GosKomInvest is developing a draft concept to simplify and avoid any misunderstanding in the administrative and general parts of the tax code in new edition.
The current tax code came into effect on January 1, 2013.
