At a meeting that was held after the credentials presentation ceremony, the sides reportedly discussed state and prospects of further expansion of bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan.

Alizoda and Jeenbekov also exchanged views on issues related to delimitation and demarcation of Tajikistan-Kyrgyzstan border and underlined the significance of acceleration of that process.

Recall, the next round Tajik-Kyrgyz negotiations on delimitation and demarcation of the shared border I scheduled for February 15.

It is still unknown whether the meeting will be held tomorrow or not, a source within the Tajik government told Asia-Plus in an interview.

“Since the Kyrgyz vice-premier overseeing the issue of border with Tajikistan has been retired, most likely the meeting will be postponed,” the source added.
