The Supreme Court sentenced Ali Saidov, a resident of Roudaki district to 24 years in prison at the end of last week, according to the press center of the Prosecutor-General’s Office.

The sentence reportedly followed his conviction on charges of brutally killing his wife.  Saidov will serve his term in a high-security penal colony.  

The press center of the Prosecutor-General’s Office says Saidov inflicted 13 stab wounds on his wife following family quarrel.  The woman died on the spot.
