The Ministry of Health of Tajikistan reports an increased risk of viral hepatitis A among children. However, the agency claims that this is seasonal and believes that there is no cause for concern.

According to the head of the Department of Sanitary and Epidemiological Safety, Emergencies and Emergency Medical Assistance of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic Navruz Jafarov, cases of hepatitis A infection can now be recorded among children from 3 to 14 years old attending schools and kindergartens..

It's a seasonal disease, he says. «Infection occurs mainly through contaminated food and water, and for this reason there is a high risk among children who go to kindergarten and school», – he says.

He also noted that in 2022 the epidemic of this disease in the country is not expected.
