The champion of Tajikistan – Dushanbe "Istiqlol", according to the results of the draw for the group stage of the AFC Champions League-2023/24, was in group "E", the Football Federation of Tajikistan reports.
The opponents of the Dushanbe club will be “Persepolis” (Iran), “Al-Duhail” (Qatar) and “Al-Nasr” (Saudi Arabia), which includes the captain of the Portuguese national team Cristiano Ronaldo.
Istiqlol will play its opening match in the group stage of the AFC Champions League 2023/24 at home against Qatar's “Al-Duhail”. This meeting will take place on September 18 at the Central Stadium of Dushanbe.
It should be noted that according to the results of the group stage, the winners of five groups in each zone, as well as three teams that took second places in their quarters with the best indicators, will enter the 1/8 finals of the AFC Champions League 2023/24.
