By government’s decree domestic airports that were managed by have been transferred from “the municipal property to the republican property and to the balance sheet of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic.” 

The document which was issued on August 31 is published on the Justice Ministry’s legal information website

Under this document, airports in Farkhor and Hamadoni districts of Khatlon province are transferred from the balance sheet of the Central Committee of Tajikistan’s Defense Assistance Organization to the sheet balance of the Ministry of Defense and the airport in Isfara of Sughd province is transferred from the balance sheet of Khujand International Airport to the balance sheet of the Ministry of Defense.  

Besides, eighteen other domestic airports are also handed over to the Ministry of Defense:

 

1.         Airport in Panj district (Khatlon province);

2.         Airport in Shamsiddin-Shohin district (Khatlon province);

3.         Airport in Dahsti Jum (Shamsiddin-Shohin district in Khatlon province);

4.         Airport in Yol (Shamsiddin-Shohin district in Khatlon province);

5.         Airport in Ayni district (Sughd province);

6.         Airport in Istaravshan city (Sughd province);

7.         Airport in Asht district (Sughd province);

8.         Airport in Konibodom city (Sughd province);

9.         Airport in Panjakent city (Sughd province);

10.       Airport in Ishakashim district (Gorno Badakhshan Autonomous Region, or GBAO);

11.       Airport in Rushan district (GBAO);

12.       Airport in Vanj district (GBAO);

13.       Airport in Qalai Khumb (GBAO’s Darvoz district);

14.       Airport in Saghirdasht (GBAO’s Darvoz district);

15.       Airport in Lakhsh district (district subordinate to the center, Rasht Valley);

16.       Airport in in Lakhsh, administrative center of Lakhsh district;

17.       Airport in Tojikobod district (district subordinate to the center, Rasht Valley);

18.       Airport in Rasht district (district subordinate to the center, Rasht Valley).

 

The Ministry of Defense is ordered to ensure the rehabilitation and bringing of the airports into constant readiness at the expense of funds earned from a paid one-month basic reserve service

Meanwhile, the airport in GBAO’s capital, Khorog, becomes a structural unit of Dushanbe International Airport.  

Currently, flights are operated only from four international airports: Dushanbe International Airport; Bokhtar International Airport; Khujand International Airport and Kulob International Airport.
