The formations of the Islamic State have been completely destroyed on the territory of Afghanistan, the activity of the terrorist group has been reduced to zero, said the representatives of the Interior Ministry of the “Taliban” government.

And those countries that say the opposite, let them provide evidence of the presence of ISIS in Afghanistan, said Interior Ministry spokesman Abdul Mateen Kani. According to him, Afghanistan poses no threat to other countries, reports TOLOnews.

At a briefing on the annual activities of the ministry (in the period from April 2023 to March 2024), the Taliban said that for the first time in 40 years the country can be considered safe – Afghans travel to different provinces without fear for their lives, reports Ariananews.af.

According to the “Taliban” officials, the crime rate in Afghanistan decreased by 30% over the year, and all major religious and national holidays and ceremonies were held throughout the country without any security incidents.

The Interior Ministry also noted that the agency has taken serious actions to eradicate the cultivation, production and trafficking of drugs in Afghanistan.

"As a result, this illegal activity has been practically eradicated. Moreover, poppy fields across the country were destroyed, drug addicts received treatment, and those involved in drug trafficking were prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law," say ministry officials.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs reported that over the past year 3,643 tons of narcotic substances were seized, 790 facilities for the production and processing of drugs, as well as for the production of alcoholic beverages and intoxicants were liquidated.

10.5 thousand people were arrested for drug trafficking. In addition, 17.6 thousand hectares of land have been cleared of poppy crops.

Meanwhile, according to the Drug Control Agency of the Republic of Tajikistan, about 3.1 tons of Afghan drugs were seized in Tajikistan in the first half of 2024, which is 619 kg (25%) more than in the same period of 2023.

Experts and authorities in many countries of the region regularly declare threats to the activities of “IS-Khorasan” (“Vilayat Khorasan”) and other terrorist organizations in Afghanistan. Speaking at a meeting of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly in June in Almaty, Chairman of the upper house of the Tajik Parliament Rustam Emomali noted that "Afghanistan has once again turned into a hotbed of terrorism, dozens of terrorist and extremist groups are strengthening their positions on its territory."
