President Emomali Rahmon, who is also Head of the Government of Tajikistan, held a meeting of the Government on September 30, according to the Tajik president’s official website. 

The Minister of Agriculture, Qurbon Hakimzoda, reported on the Program for the Development of Horticulture and Citrus Growing in the Republic of Tajikistan for 2025-2029.

He, in particular, emphasized that the main objectives of the Program are in continuing the development of the horticulture industry and supplying the population with food products, the access of processing enterprises to raw materials, increasing the export capacity, reducing the dependence of the consumer market on imported products, creating new jobs, expanding "green economy", solving environmental problems, reducing emissions of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere and preventing climate warming.

Then the Minister of Foreign Affairs Sirojiddin Muhriddin reported on measures taken to hold the United Nations Water Conference in Tajikistan in 2028.

Amendments proposed to the country’s law on veterans were discussed and the bill was sent to for consideration the Majlisi Namoyandagon (Tajikistan’s lower chamber of parliament). 

The Draft Plan of Actions for 2024-2026 of the Strategy for the Development of Social Protection of the Population of Tajikistan for the Period up to 2040, the Draft National Program for the Development of Theatrical Art in Tajikistan for 2025-2029, digitalization of processes in customs checkpoints and the system operator in the energy system of Tajikistan were discussed at the meeting and relevant decrees of the Government of Tajikistan were adopted.

The Minister of Economic Development and Trade Zavqi Zavqizoda then reported on the indicators of the country’s socio-economic development prospects in 2026 and its main parameters for 2027-2028.

At the end of the meeting, Emomali Rahmon gave instructions and orders to the Government and other institutions regarding the proper preparation for winter season, sufficient stock of food and fuel for all sectors, the expansion of construction works to welcome the 35th anniversary of the country’s independence and other pressing issues.
