Emomali Rahmon meets Kuwaiti foreign minister in Al-Kuwait to discuss cooperation

On Sunday November 3, Tajik President Emomali Rahmon met in Al-Kuwait with Kuwaiti Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdullah Ali Abdullah Saleh Al-Yahya.

The Tajik president’s official website says the parties discussed state and prospects of further expansion of bilateral cooperation between the Republic of Tajikistan and the State of Kuwait.  

In the curse of the talks, Tajik leader reportedly appreciated the Kuwait Development Fund’s contribution to the implementation of Tajikistan’s national investment projects.

It was emphasized that cooperation between the two countries is expanding in the fields of culture, science and education.

During the discussion of international and regional issues, satisfaction was expressed with regard to the beneficial cooperation between Tajikistan and Kuwait within the framework of the United Nations, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, the Asian Cooperation Dialogue, etc.

It was stressed that the countries have close or similar positions on most issues of the international and regional agenda.

Both sides expressed their interest in effective implementation of international initiatives of Tajikistan in water and climate issues.

Emomali Rahmon reportedly paid special attention to the initiative of Tajikistan, which was presented at the 79th session of the UN General Assembly on the adoption of the UN special resolution on the declaration of the Decade of Strengthening Peace for Future Generations.

The parties also discussed other pressing issues being of mutual interest, according to the Tajik president’s official website.

Meanwhile, Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) reports that on the same day, visiting Tajik President Emomali Rahmon met with Kuwaiti Acting Prime Minister, Minister of Defense and Interior Minister Sheikh Fahad Yusuf   Al-Sabah in his residence at Bayan Palace.

The two meetings were reportedly attended by head of accompanying honor mission, Advisor at the Amir Diwan Mohammad Abdullah Abu Alhasan.
