As part of the strategy to improve the level of passenger service, Somon Air launched a program to update passenger seats in its aircraft, says press release issued by Somon Air on October 31.

As part of the program, the company replaces outdated seats with new ones.  The Elesa economy class seat model manufactured by TCI (Turkiye) was chosen as the new seats.

The presentation of the seats was reportedly held in Dushanbe at the International Tourism Exhibition DITE-2024 and received good reviews.

The press release, in particular, says the comfortable seats have a Bi-fold back mounted tray table, literature pockets, and a coat hook.  The seats are equipped with a mechanically controlled recline mechanism and an armrest.  Gadget lovers will love the new feature of the seats – they have a stand for personal electronic devices integrated into the table, on which passengers can place a mobile phone or tablet for working or viewing content during the flight.  The new seat design with the company logo imprinted on the backrest reflects the evolution of onboard branding.

Somon Air is the first private airline in Tajikistan with an office headquartered in Dushanbe.  The airline operations are based at Dushanbe International Airport.  The airline started operating on February 5, 2008 with regular flights to Moscow and Dubai.

Somon Air also serves as the official carrier of the President of Tajikistan and other Tajikistan high-ranking officials
