Tajikistan’s privately-owned air carrier, Somon Air, has suspended flights from Dushanbe to Moscow's Vnukovo Airport.

Flights to Moscow now operate only to Domodedovo and Zhukovsky airports.

Tajikistan’s Civil Aviation Agency did not disclose reasons for the change, suggesting inquiries be submitted in writing.

"For more detailed information, please contact the Agency in writing," an official source within the Civil  Aviation Agency said.

Somon Air has declined to comment on this information.

Currently, flights from Tajikistan to Russia are operated by one Tajik airline, Somon Air, and three Russian airlines: Ural Airlines, UTair, and NordWind.

Russian airlines dominate the market, performing around 800 monthly flights to Tajikistan compared to Somon Air's 100 flights, accounting for 15% of the market.

Somon Air is the first private airline in Tajikistan with an office headquartered in Dushanbe.  The airline operations are based at Dushanbe International Airport.  The airline started operating on February 5, 2008 with regular flights to Moscow and Dubai.

The company is focused on expanding the route network of air transportation and the fleet, and currently operates regular flights from Tajikistan to Germany, the United Arab Emirates, Turkiye, China, India, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Pakistan, Russia, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.
