On December 30, the President of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, sent a telegram of condolences to the President of the United States of America, Joseph Biden, which reads:

"Your Excellency,

We are saddened by the news of the demise of former President of the United States of America James Earl Carter.

The deceased, with his fruitful work in the high office of President of the United States of America, earned special respect and honor within the country, and had a high reputation in the international arena as a recognized politician.

In these sad moments, I express my deepest condolences and sympathy to the relatives and family of the deceased and all the friendly people of the United States of America."

James Earl Carter Jr. (October 1, 1924 – December 29, 2024) was an American politician and humanitarian who served as the 39th president of the United States from 1977 to 1981.  A member of the Democratic Party, Carter served as the 76th governor of Georgia from 1971 to 1975 and in the Georgia State Senate from 1963 to 1967.  He was the longest-lived president in U.S. history and the first to reach the age of 100.
