Ms. Zebuniso Abdullozoda’s candidacy has already been submitted to the parliament for approval.  If approved, she will replace the 50-year-old Rustam Mirzozoda, who had served as head of the High Economic Court of Tajikistan since 2022 and is now set to become the Chairperson of the Supreme Court of Tajikistan.  He will succeed Shermuhammad Shohiyon, who had served in the role since 2015.

Zebuniso Abdullozoda was born in Tajikistan on December 22, 1972.  She graduated from the Tajik National University in 2001 with a degree from the Faculty of Law.

It is worth noting that she is the daughter of Faizullo Abdulloyev, who served as Tajikistan's Minister of Justice from 1990 to 1993 and was a judge and former Chairperson of the CIS Economic Court from 2004 to 2008 and again from 2008 to 2011.

From an early age, she dreamed of becoming a lawyer, despite her father—an expert in the legal field—having doubts about this path and advising her to pursue a career in education instead.

Career

Her professional journey began in 1992 at the Ministry of Education, where she held various positions in administrative, economic management, and accounting.

In subsequent years, starting in 1998, Abdullozoda worked at the High Economic Court of Tajikistan.  She regularly attended advanced training courses at the Judicial Training Center of the Supreme Economic Court.  In 2019, she visited the United States, where she spent two weeks studying the work of judges and the penitentiary system.

In August 2023, she was awarded the “Khizmati Shoista” medal for her exemplary service.

She has established herself as an experienced and competent professional, progressing in her career from chief specialist to judge and deputy chairperson.

In 2017, she became the Chairperson of the Economic Court of Dushanbe.  By 2024, she had risen to the position of First Deputy Chairperson of the Supreme Economic Court of Tajikistan.

The High Economic Court of the Republic of Tajikistan is also the highest court responsible for the settlement of economic disputes and other cases judged by the economic courts.
