President Emomali Rahmon, who is also Head of the Government, has introduced a number of staff changes.

According to the Tajik president’s official website, Rahmon, in particular, replaced judges of the Supreme Court and High Economic Court and carried out personnel changes in the leadership of government bodies in Dushanbe, the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region (GBAO), and Khatlon Province on January 29.

Thus, Abduqahhor Taghoyzoda was relieved of his post of a judge of the Supreme Court.  His candidacy has been proposed for the position of Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Court.

Sulaimon Qosimzoda was dismissed from his post of a judge of the High Economic Court.  His candidacy has been proposed for the role of Deputy Chairman of the High Economic Court.

The following candidates have been proposed for appointment as judges of the Supreme Court:

·         Marziya Saidzoda

·         Asomuddin Bobokhonzoda

·         Nazrullo Shukurzoda

·         Namoz Amonzoda

·         Jurabek Sherzoda

·         Safarli Qurboniyon

·         Davron Nazarzoda

·         Ismoil Davlatzoda

For the High Economic Court, the following candidates have been proposed for appointment as judges:

  • Zumrad Barotzoda
  • Zulfia Sayyedzoda

The president’s proposals have been submitted for review to the Majlisi Milli (Tajikistan’s upper chamber of parliament).

By president’s decree, Bakhtiyor Sharifi was relieved of his post of Chairman of Yovon District in Khatlon Province and appointed First Deputy Mayor of Dushanbe.

Umed Gurezoda was appointed Chairman of Dushanbe’s Sino District, and Dilshod Safarzoda was appointed Chairman of Dushanbe’s Firdavsi District.

Ikromiddin Valizoda, formerly Chairman of Kushoniyon District in Khatlon Province, was appointed Chairman of Yovon District.

Mahmadsharif Kholzoda was appointed Chairman of Kushoniyon District, while Mahmoud Amirzoda was appointed Chairman of Abdurahmoni-Jomi District in Khatlon Province.

With the president’s approval, Muslima Afzalsho has been appointed Deputy Chairwoman of GBAO.

By government resolution, Isfandiyor Shukurzoda was appointed First Deputy Chairman of the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of Tajikistan.
