President Emomali Rahmon yesterday, March 4, received a group of new personnel to the judiciary and prosecutor's office in several cities and districts of the country, as well as heads of several departments of the Prosecutor-General's Office, prosecutors of cities and districts, the Tajik president’s official website reports.

By presidential decrees, new chairpersons of courts in the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region, judges, and chairpersons of courts in several cities and districts of GBAO, Khatlon, and Sughd provinces, as well as the city of Dushanbe, cities, and districts subordinate to the center, were appointed.

In agreement with the head of state, the following prosecutors were appointed: prosecutor of the city of Nurek in the Khatlon province, prosecutor of the Ayni district in the Sughd province, prosecutor of Dushanbe’s Ismoili Somoni district, prosecutor for supervising the implementation of laws in correctional institutions and the enforcement of criminal penalties at the Prosecutor-General's Office, and prosecutor for supervising the implementation of laws in correctional institutions and the enforcement of criminal penalties in the Khatlon province, as well as heads of several departments and divisions of the central office of the Prosecutor-General Office.

“Most of those appointed to the judiciary and prosecutor's office today are young and experienced professionals.  Women have also been appointed to responsible positions in the judiciary.  Of the total number of newly appointed personnel, 65 individuals, who worked as trainee judges, were appointed to judicial positions for the first time," the statement notes.

At a meeting with the new appointees, Emomali Rahmon reportedly analyzed the development of the judicial bodies, the implementation of the judicial and legal reform program, the improvement of legislation in this field, and further improvement of the social conditions of employees in the judiciary and prosecutor's office.
